During the Personal Statment Workshop, we will review the UW Personal Statement prompts, discuss topic ideas, tips and common mistakes to avoid.

Are you actively working on applying to UW Seattle for Winter 2027? Check out these FAQs to help you get started and move through the process!
If you are considering applying to UW for Winter 2027, the application is now open, and will close on September 1, 2026. If you have not previously connected with a Path to UW Adviser on if Winter Admission aligns with your academic and transfer goals, we recommend doing this as soon as possible. Not all majors align with winter application and admissions timelines, and we want to support you in making the most informed decisions and get the most support possible in planning for a smooth transfer.

Official transcripts from all schools you’ve attended must be sent to the University of Washington between the dates August 1st - September 1st
How to Send Transcripts:
The priority filing date for UW campuses for the FAFSA/WAFSA for 2026-27 Academic Year will be February 28. Students hoping to be considered for federal aid and grants should aim to be submitting by the priority deadline to avoid the need for additional petitions to be considered for priority aid from UW. This included for winter 227 admission. If you did NOT submit a FAFSA/WAFSA already but are hoping for aid, reach out and we can connect you on with our financial aid office for next steps to help you be considered for as much aid as possible at UW.
While filing by this date does not guarantee financial aid award, it does mean that you will be considered for the maximum amount of aid opportunities that your FAFSA/WAFSA information would make you potentially eligible for. Official transcripts should be sent to UW as soon as possible. While ideally they are sent soon enough to be recived by the app deadline, there is a buffer time so sending them by the deadline date is a last resort, but acceptable. After the deadline, admissions will pair applications received with transcripts received. Transcripts can take time to process and send so there is a grace period. If admissions can't find transcripts to pair with your app, they will reach out to you and let you know your app is incomplete. You need to make sure to look out for those messages and let them know you sent those transcripts along and work with them from there.
Keep in mind that if you need transcript support, college staff are typically offline after 4:00 PM on Fridays, so please plan ahead if you might need support.
