The Path to UW program is a partnership with Seattle Promise and Project Baldwin that offers focused support to students who are considering transferring to the University of Washington - Seattle in the future. We will be available for drop-in and scheduled appointments for any incoming Promise or Baldwin student starting in Autumn quarter. If you want to get a head start on UW exploration and questions to bring to us, we recommend checking out this information session. UW Seattle's Winter 2027 Application Opens August 1
If you are considering applying to UW for Winter 2027, the application will open on August 1 and close September 1. If you have not previously connected with a Path to UW Adviser on if Winter Admission aligns with your academic and transfer goals, we recommend doing this as soon as possible. Not all majors align with winter application and admissions timelines, and we want to support you in making the most informed decisions and get the most support possible in planning for a smooth transfer.

Send in your final transcripts from your current school to UW | Taking Summer Classes
You should have applied to UW with winter in progress and spring not even started. To make sure you have your credits up to date on your UW account, all admitted students are required to send final official transcripts showing all completed coursework, which would include final grades for winter and spring classes. Sending in transcripts so they are received BEFORE your summer orientation session is important. It is helpful to have as updated of a credit count on your UW transcript as possible on your orientation day because you register for classes during this time, and a complete credit record helps you avoid many issues. If you are unable to send in winter/spring final grades before your orientation session, we recommend preparing to bring in a list of the classes you have completed since applying to share with your adviser. Summer Classes at Other Schools
If you are taking summer classes or unable to send in winter/spring final grades before your orientation session, we recommend preparing to bring in a list of the classes you are taking this summer and have otherwise completed since applying.
If you are able, it can help to send in your transcripts with winter and spring grades sooner, and then send in your final transcript after summer / with your associate notation on it if you complete this after summer. We know that this can mean paying two more times to send official transcripts, so let us know if you have questions.When will I register for UW Classes?
New Transfers and First-Years (freshmen) will register during a synchronous online orientation you will sign up for that happens over the summer.
After accepting your offer, you will receive further instructions on setting up your UW account and activating our onboarding checklist to sign up for this UW orientation. This is also where you will start to be able to meet with UW advisers, though Path to UW students are welcome to ask Lily or Laura questions too because we are also UW advisers.
